"If you're confused, listen to the music!" Is Jerry Garcia's recommendation on the 1975 album Blues for Allah - and there has rarely been better advice. After almost 20 months of self-imposed break, Grateful Dead produced their new album in guitarist Bob Weir's studio, which he had built into his new house in California. Instead of recording album versions of songs that had matured on stage as usual, the band members developed the material together in the studio this time.

Percussionist Mickey Hart also returned to the band for the recordings. Blues for Allah brings back the dead-typical energy that was lost through constant touring and financial pressure - The Music Never Stopped. Krieg Wunderlich remastered the original master tapes for the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab. The double LP on 180 gram vinyl at 45 rpm appears in the flip cover. The edition is limited to 4,000 copies.
