Provenance & Dead Wax Etchings

Serious collectors know the "DNA" of the record is in the run-out groove. This copy features the following definitive etchings:

  • Kendu / Kendu III: Indicates mastering by Kendu Herndon at Bernie Grundman Mastering. This is widely considered the definitive sonic version of this album.

  • "Art rolls, Sink swims": The classic cryptic hidden message found on early Arista pressings.

  • 7001 - SB: Consistent with high-quality pressings from the Santa Maria plant.

Condition

  • Vinyl: Excellent (EX) . The surface retains a high gloss with no significant visible marks or spindle wear on the labels.

  • Jacket: Very Good Plus (VG+). Vibrant colors with very minor shelf wear ring wear and a light corner crease on the bottom right. No seam splits. Factory cut out on bottom edge. This was common when records were being discounted due to overstock.

Professional Archival Protection

This record has been professionally handled to ensure its longevity:

  • Inner Sleeve: Transferred from the original paper to a new 3-ply archival onion sleeve to prevent static and scuffing.

  • Outer Sleeve: Protected by a 4-mil thick protective outer sleeve.

Shipping

Ships securely in a dedicated cardboard record mailer via USPS Media Mail. The vinyl will be shipped outside of the jacket (within its archival sleeve) to prevent seam splits during transit.
