  Original UK Harvest label stereo 1st press.

The Greatest Show On Earth were going to be the UK's answer to Chicago & BS&T and their two albums for Harvest displayed a strong compositional skill as well as an imaginative use of brass and are lost gems of the era. They enjoyed a brief popularity in Europe following the success of the single, ‘Real Cool World’, but the Greatest Show On Earth found little favour at home and broke up in 1971. Norman Watt-Roy then formed Glencoe and later became a member of Ian Dury’s Blockheads, hence the great rhythms in their songs. This is the very first pressing with A-1/B-2 matrices and the earliest 1-A & 1-R stampers of the first few hundred copies pressed, with no EMI credits on the labels!
  The front laminated gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner wear and very light laminate rubbing on the outer cover, but the rear cover has a bent lower corner with a couple of laminate creases. The spine is intact and fully readable, the Harvest company inner is intact, but yellowed & in VG+ condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two small needle scuffs/marks visible on each side that do not affect play. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves, overall a really great, loud and lively listen.   The matrix nos. are; SHVL-783, A-1 stamper 1-A, B-2 stamper 1-R. This is one of the very early pressings of the original 1970 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!

  All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!!   UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg.
