TEN THOUSAND ANGELS It is with great opportunity that I have been called upon to write about the Sierras. This group, one of the newest in the gospel singing field, consists of four young men, devoting and dedicating the best of their talents to their great love, gospel music. The members are: DUWARD YEARGIN, tenor, HAROLD BEAN, lead, LAVERN TRIPP, baritone, and BIG BILL TRAMMELL, bass. Now you have met the Sierras. Organized in August, 1965, by DUWARD YEARGIN, the Sierras have made their way into the hearts of thousands. The delivery of the Sierras, when they are on stage, is of such a way that people feel the very presence of God, so much that it is evident in their emotional outbursts. I honestly feel that the type of singing that is presented by the Sierras will make them one of the nation’s number one singing groups. There is an atmosphere, when the Sierras sing, that makes everyone feel that they have known each other for years. This album which consists of the old-fashioned country and pop gospel, has one of the finest varieties of any album that I have ever heard. If you are hearing this without having seen the Sierras in person, I recommend highly that upon their first visit in your neighborhood that you make your way to the place where they might be singing, whether it be Church, Civic Club, concerts, or on television. This being the first long play album of the Sierras, I feel that it is a great privilege to have been called upon to endorse their great first album.
