The fifth Groundhogs album was recorded at Olympic Studios, London in January and released in March 1972. The foldout sleeve artwork takes the form of a comic book featuring the Groundhogs depicted as superheroes, drawn by comic book artist Neal Adams. This was the follow up to the very popular Split album of the previous year and reached no.8 in the UK charts. The band started touring the US soon after its release, which was halted by Tony McPhee's accident.

This is the original issue with the fold-out comic book sleeve, the A-1U B-1U matrices and the Liberty-United Artists label credits of the 1st pressings!
 

The Garrod & Lofthouse matt foldout gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light edge/corner wear and some very light storage rubbing on the outer cover. The spine is intact, but slightly worn and fully readable, the UA Company inner is intact & is in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, with just some brief, low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, still a really great, lively listen.  

The matrix nos. are; UAG-29237, A-1U stamper 1-R, B-1U stamper 1-RR. This is one of the early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1972 UK stereo issue of this album!
