Description
This is an original LP copy of Guided By Voices release Tonics and Twisted Chasers. When I say original, I mean original. I got this as a gift from my very close friend who I worked with at Rockathon Records for a brief time. The story goes that when the records first came in, the band went to Rockathon to begin assembling them. They began with spray glue and noticed that the paper covers would not hold very well, and then changed to a cement that actually caused the record covers to form a wave in them. So most LP copies of this release have a cover that have a wave in them. The later copies were shrink wrapped. This is one of the first 6 or 7 copies to ever be put together. I think Bob, Jimmy, Toby, Pete, Greg and a couple other guys were there that night, so one of them actually assembled this one (probably Pete). As you can see in the pictures, the paper covers for the front and the back are not attached. They are in good shape and fell off shortly after I was given the record. Otherwise, the cover is just a plain white sleeve. The vinyl is pressed on blue wax. I'm not a professional at determining condition, but the winner should be pleased with their purchase. The record and sleeve are both in what I would call excellent condition. The record a couple very minor surface scratches and the sleeve has some very minor wear. This record has been played maybe a dozen times, although it may be my favorite thing they ever did. Please allow 3 days for handling and 2-3 days for shipping. It probably won't take me a week to get it out, but I like to have it if I need it. Shipping is $7.00 and to the U.S. only. Ohio winners will be required to add 7% sales tax to the final selling price. The winner is required to pay for the item via PayPal within 48 hours after the close of the auction.
The shipping for this record is $4.00 Media Mail and not $7.00 as listed in the description.
