Guido Cantelli: Beethoven - Symphony No. 7 (HMV ASD 254 UK) .
This is the first white and gold lable version of this recording - not to be confused with later releases with the red EMI lable.
The original dust jacket is included, although the record will come in a modern dust jacket, used after professional cleaning.
I am not sure what is the appropriate grade to give this record. The cover and inner sleeve I hope you can judge for yourself from the pictures - it is fully laminated with just one very small tear about 3.4mm at the bottom left hand corner I think this is probably VG?
The vinyl looks unblemished to my eye on side 1. Side 2 has 2 light rub marks/scratches that can be seen when the light is at the right angle, and that have a minimal effect on playback. There is some crackle and clicking at various points on playback (most noticeable in the first minute or two of side 1) but overall not too distracting and I think it is a pleasant listen.
I am not an experienced vinyl seller (the record is from my deceased mother's collection) and again I am not sure how to grade this - somewhere about VG+ to EX is my best guess.
So that you can judge for yourself I have made a high definition recording of the disc using my Sony PS-HX500 record deck, which is available at bit.ly/ASD254 (this link is case sensitive, so ASD254 not asd254. I am sorry I can't post a clickable link, but eBay won't let me. It is a recording of the whole LP in one .WAV file, so it is pretty big).
Comments about this from those of you that are experienced collectors would be very helpful, as I have a number of other very collectable records that I will be selling soon, and I would like to grade them as accurately as possible. Thanks.
