György Sándor Ligeti (1923 – 2006) was a composer, born in a Hungarian Jewish family in Transylvania, Romania. He briefly lived in Hungary before later becoming an Austrian citizen. Many of his works are well known in classical music circles, but to the general public, he is best-known for the various pieces featured in the Stanley Kubrick films 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, and Eyes Wide Shut.
This 5 LP set is in good condition.
The box is in good condition. There is some slight wear around the edges (minor bumping and there are some marks and scuffs. The back of the box has a slight scratch. There is some slight yellowing. There is some slight wear to the hinge and it has started to come loose at the edges (easily fixed with some glue). (Please Note: The box looks great and I have probably over emphasized the wear.) I believe the box originally came with a booklet, the booklet is missing.
The records are in good condition. They are all very clean and look amazing. There is a small amount of surface noise. I have listened to the 5 LPs (and enjoyed it very much) and there are no skips or scratches.
Overall this wonderful box is in good condition.
