Description
This LP is an awesome prog blues psych album and it's getting rare.
It's on the UK Polydor label and is entitled 'Up The Hard Way' by legendary British band, Hackensack. Hackensack were led by vocalist Nicky Moore who went on to form the monster metal band, Samson.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is 2383 263. This album was originally released in 1974.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve which is laminated on both sides is in fine condition. There is some minor creasing and very minor wear on the front, rear, edges and spine. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. I've graded the sleeve Ex.
INNER BAG - This is a printed paper bag (please see pictures) with a black and white photo of the band on one side and track details/credits in black and white on the other. It's in fine condition and I've graded it Ex-. The only real blemish is a small (15 x 20mm) sticker tear in the top right hand corner of the credits side which partially obscures the catalogue number.
RECORD - The record is in superb condition. It looks very clean and shiny and appears to have been played only a few times. There are some very superficial marks on either side which do not affect the quality. It plays very well on both sides with some minor surface noise and some occasional pops and clicks on both sides. These blemishes do not detract from the overall quality of record. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side. The record is very sligtly warped but this is hardly noticeable and it plays through perfectly with no effect or rumble from the very slight warp.
LABELS - The labels were specially designed to fit in with the theme of the album and feature a mounted knight galloping along the top of each label. They are multi-coloured and look very attractive. There are some minor spindle marks around both holes. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - 2383263 A//1 420011 8 - side two - XXXXXXXX 238 3263 BV2 113 . I've graded the record as Ex which I believe is very fair.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this first pressing again in such beautiful condition.
