Description

HALF PINT – “In Fine Style” LP

Checkout/Payment: You’re kindly asked not to rush onto the PayPal “Pay Now” button (especially when you’re winning more than one item) but wait for our invoice instead. We will invoice all winners at the end of each auction with the correct combined P&P cost. It’s in your own interest to follow this guideline please (it only requires little patience) because will not process any PayPal refunds except for exceptional circumstances

Jamaican Pressings: It’s well known Jamaican pressings are notoriously noisy & of poor quality and the RC grading system can’t accurately reflect their level of use as nearly all Mint records will fall into a VG category. We will therefore grade on the appearance and add an “in parenthesis” comment for the audio impression. Also quite often it’s hard to distinguish original issues from re-issues & in this respect photos of the cover+labels will be included for you to make up your own mind

Grading

All records are originals except when noted. For grading purposes I use the British Record Collector's grading scale with occasionally (+) or (-) signs to denote the in-between conditions.

Generally speaking:
- a MINT (M) or NEAR MINT (M-) grade will give full satisfaction
- an EXCELLENT (EX) grade is always a shiny vinyl with possibly a faint mark or two, ONLY seen under a strong light and NOT affecting performance; in most cases NM and EX are pretty close)
- a VG+ or even a VG (Very Good) grade is always a shiny vinyl with some very light surface marks & will give an enjoyable performance with no skips, pops or unpleasant surface noise.
- a GOOD grade is still a shiny vinyl with several light marks & will play with light surface noise & the occasional light pop
Same logic applies to the cover's grade.
I do not list records at an inferior grade unless they are extremely rare & sought after.
