Artist: HAMPTON HAWES QUARTET
Title: “FOUR”
Label: CONTEMPORARY. Monaural pressing on medium thick vinyl. Label is yellow with black text, with deep groove. Catalog number is C 3553.
Year: 1958.
Personnel: Hampton Hawes – piano; Barney Kessel – guitar; Red Mitchell – bass; Shelly Manne – drums.
Note: This album comes from an extremely well cared-for jazz collection where the original owner cherished his albums, played them once or twice at most, and stored them under optimal conditions. This is a fantastic opportunity for the discriminating collector who insists on top condition.
Condition:
DISC: Vinyl is gorgeous NEAR MINT, as clean as can be found. The playing surface is immaculate, with a high luster, perhaps played once. Plays flawlessly with superb fidelity. Labels are clean and pristine with no spindle trail marks.
JACKET: Laminated jacket is beautiful NM with clean front and back panels. Seams, spine, and corners are excellent. Address is “Contemporary Records, 8481 Melrose Place, Los Angeles 46, California.” Overall a beauty – I doubt you will ever see a finer copy!
