HANK MOBLEY "Dippin'" Blue Note 4209, RVG Mono Vinyl
This is the 1966, first edition, "Van Gelder" stamped, mono pressing of LEE MORGAN's "Lee Morgan, Vol. 3" Blue on the "New York USA" labels of Blue Note BLP 4209. No "P". Musicians include Larry Ridley, Billy Higgins, Harold Mabern, Jr., Hank Mobley, Lee Morgan.
VINYL plays beautifully, with consistent low-level surface noise (i.e, static, crackle, ??,????,relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks, beneath the music. Ensemble Instrumental sections are dynamic and strong with clean transients, powerful extension and full clear tone. No Skips. No locked grooves. No distortion. Excellent gloss, five or so hairline marks, none feelable (generally speaking, if you can't feel it, you can't hear it). The "New York USA" labels are clean with spindle marks. See photos.
COVER is in good condition, strong inking. Corners worn, one heavily wrinkled. Top seam taped end-to-end. Spine clean with cracking. Lower seam clean, five-inch taped section, with cracking, 1" split at opening. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, Inc., 43 West 61st., New York 23" back jacket in very clean condition. Please see photos.
