HANK MOBLEY ”Hank Mobley” RVG, DG, P, BLP 1550 mono Vinyl

This is the 1957, first edition, RVG-etched, Deep Groove, Laminated Cover, “P” pressing of HANK MOBLEY’s “Hank Mobley” on the "47 West 63rd NY 23” labels of Blue Note BLP 1550. Musicians include Hank Mobley - tenor saxophone, Art Farmer – trumpet, Horace Silver – piano, Doug Watkins – bass, Art Blakey – drums.

FLAT RIM VINYL plays with consistent medium-level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks (some repeating). Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No distortion. No skips. Good gloss. Many hairline marks, 6 feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove "47 West 63rd New York 23” labels are generally clean, some wear, spindle marks. See photos.

LAMINATED COVER is in good shape, corners worn. Some peeling on borders. Seams and spine show cracking, no clean splits. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC, 43 West 63rd St., New York 23” back jacket shows aging, stains, but basically clean.   Please see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
