THE LACQUERED FRONT COVER STOCK WITH SOME LIGHT RUB WEAR. BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER WITH 3M MAGIC TAPE. OTHER CORNERS WITH ROUGH SPOTS ON POINT. BACK WHITE CARD STOCK WITH LIGHT RUB WEAR AND AGE DISCOLORATION.

SOME LIGHT SPINDLE RUB MARKS AROUND HOLE. THE VINYL BLANK WITH ASSORTED LIGHT AND FINE SCUFFS/RUB MARKS/PLAY LINES. YOU MIGHT EXCLAIM AT FIRST GLANCE IT'S A VG MINUS RECORD OR WORSE. BUT I'VE TEST PLAYED THIS LP ON THE VPI TURNTABLE AND PROFESSIONAL SOUND SYSTEM AND IT WAS A WONDERFUL PLAY AFTER 48 YEARS! EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT A DEEP GROOVE PRESSING, THE SOUND QUALITY WAS STILL FABULOUS. IF YOU WERE SITTING LISTENING TO IT IN SOMEONE'S HOME AFTER THEY PUT IT ON THE TURNTABLE, YOU'D SAY IT WAS VG PLUS PLAY. AURALLY STILL QUITE STRONG, COSMETICALLY IT IS CHALLENGED. PERFECTLY MINT DEEP GROOVE W63RD COPIES NOW FETCH ALMOST A GRAND.

This is one of the best-known Hank Mobley recordings, and for good reason. Although none of his four originals ("Workout," "Uh Huh," "Smokin'," "Greasin' Easy") caught on, the fine saxophonist is in top form. He jams on the four tunes, plus "The Best Things in Life Are Free," with an all-star quintet of young modernists -- guitarist Grant Green, pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Philly Joe Jones -- and shows that he was a much stronger player than his then-current boss Miles Davis seemed to think. .....

AND, LASTLY, PLEASE DO REMEMBER SOUND QUALITY IS AFFECTED BY WHAT THE VINYL IS PLAYED ON! IF YOUR STEREO SYSTEM HAS BEEN CAREFULLY CHOSEN AND ASSEMBLED FOR IT'S AURAL QUALITIES AND YOU PERFORM BASIC MAINTENANCE LIKE CLEANING YOUR VINYL, CLEANING THE NEEDLE AFTER EACH PLAY, AND REPLACING THE CARTRIDGE WHEN NEEDED, YOUR LPS SHOULD SOUND QUITE GOOD.
