Hanna-Barbera Productions, Inc. was an American animation studio that dominated American television animation for nearly three decades in the mid-to-late 20th century. It was formed in 1957 by former Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer animation directors William Hanna and Joseph Barbera (creators of Tom and Jerry) and live-action director George Sidney in partnership with Columbia Pictures' Screen Gems television division. For thirty years, Hanna-Barbera produced many successful animated shows, including The Flintstones, Yogi Bear, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, and The Smurfs, earning eight Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, among other merits. The company's fortunes declined in the mid-eighties after the profitability of Saturday morning cartoons was eclipsed by weekday afternoon syndication. Hanna-Barbera was purchased from Taft (by then named Great American Broadcasting) in late 1991 by Turner Broadcasting System, who used much of its back catalog to program its new channel, Cartoon Network. Besides their cartoons and characters.

 Hanna-Barbera was also noted for their large library of sound effects. Besides cartoon-style sound effects (such as ricochets, slide whistles and more), they also had familiar sounds used for transportation, household items, the elements, and more. When Hanna and Barbera started their own cartoon studio in 1957, they created a handful of sound effects, and had limited choices. They also took some sounds from the then-defunct MGM animation studios. By 1958, they began to expand and began adding more sound effects to their library.

Some Hanna-Barbera sounds show up in various sound libraries such as Valentino and Audio Network. Hanna-Barbera Records (the studio's short-lived record division) released a set of LP records in the late 1960s entitled Hanna-Barbera's Drop-Ins, which contained quite a few of the classic sound effects. This LP set was only available for radio and TV stations and other production studios. In 1973, and again in 1986, H-B released a second sound effect record set; a seven-LP set entitled The Hanna-Barbera Library of Sounds, which, like the previous set, contained several of the classic sound effects. Like the previous set, this was only available to production companies and radio/TV stations. (I am selling 1 of the seven-LP set) The 1986 version was also available as a two compact-disc set.

RECORD CONDITION / VG++ OR EX /// a couple light surface marks, visually looks almost NM.  Listen-tested and sounds great, does have some surface noise which is more audible than you're typical record because this is not music it is just the sounds that Hanna-Barbera used and one sound at a time.  But all the sounds come through beautifully and the  record plays great!  

JACKET CONDITION / VG /// cover is in great shape but has some slight water damage at the bottom giving it a little discoloration, (please see photos). Other than that looks EX Includes plain-record-sleeve

Guidelines for record grading / condition of used records (based on Goldmine Grading for Records)

MINT (M): Perfect! This record looks like it has just left the manufacturer, with NO flaws what so ever. It looks as though it had never been handled. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains. No stickers or writing address labels. COVER: No writing, no tears or seam splits. No wear to the cover or record period! Age of the record has nothing to do with it.

NEAR MINT or (NM), (M-): RECORD: Record appears virtually flawless. A very minor scuff and very little else appears on the vinyl. It should play without any noise over the flaw. The flaw is very hard to see. COVER: The cover looks as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and or age. Minor impressions to the cover (due to the outer edge of the vinyl resting inside) may be acceptable, however the artwork is as close to perfect as can be.

(VG++), EXCELLENT or (EX): RECORD: Will have minor scuffs which are only slightly visible. There may be more than a few scuffs and NO scratches. COVER: Artwork is still as close to perfect as can be. Some impression to the cover (minor outer ring wear) but no ink wear! Some slight creases to the corners, but not wrinkled and obtrusive to the eye. The corners can show white (where the artwork pasted slick was) meaning, slight wear. No seam splits, writing on the cover or taped repairs.

VERY GOOD PLUS or (VG+): RECORD: A VG+ record shows some wear and surface scuffs. The vinyl still has a great luster, but the flaws will be noticeable to the naked eye. Visible flaws don't cause any surface noise. COVER: A virtually clean cover, but may have small writing on it. The artwork looks clean with slightly more aging. Flat white paper will be somewhat yellow, but no stains or mildew from water damage. Some minor wear to the seams or spine, but no tears or holes popping through. The corners will be slightly dog eared, but no crackly bends, defacing the artwork.

VERY GOOD or (VG): RECORD: A record that is good enough. They are not really going to look very good, but will PLAY very good. There will almost always be some surface noise when they are played. The Dynamics should still be excellent, overpowering the surface noise. A VG record will look like it has been played, but still have some luster. COVER: VG covers will look worn, used. There may be some seam splitting . There will be some ring wear, where the ink has begun to wear off, giving the cover a look of snow falling. There may be some writing on the cover (still, no Large letters in magic marker). It will look aged and more yellowish due to contamination's in the air (sometimes looking like cigarette smoke), but should be decent undefined
