Biography

Harry Belafonte (* 1 March 1927 as Harold George Belafonete, Jr. in Harlem, New York) is an American singer, actor and entertainer. Lately, he is known to the public primarily through his involvement in social terms, as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Belafonte was born the son of a sailor from Martinique and a Jamaican laborer in New York.
