This is one of a number of vinyl albums and EPs -- some new and still-sealed, some rare -- that I am listing for auction. 

This weekend, and next, will be "Beatles and solo" weekends -- with most of the records offered being by or related to The Beatles.

This auction is for an original pressing of the 1974 vinyl LP release by John Lennon and Harry Nilsson, entitled “Pussy Cats”.  During his eighteen-month “Lost Weekend” (as Lennon himself termed his separation from Yoko Ono from mid-1973 through early 1975), Lennon spent his time carousing in Los Angeles with his buddy, Harry Nilsson.  During that time, he also worked on his oldies album project with Phil Spector.  John loved Nilsson’s voice, and he intended this project throughout to be a Nilsson album with Lennon only producing.  It is, basically, a collection of great 50’s hits that John and Harry loved as kids – Besame Mucho, Save the Last Dance For Me, Black Sails, etc, and some new tracks Nilsson wrote as well.  Some pretty good guests too – Jesse Ed Davis, Jim Keltner, Danny Kootch (Kortchmar), The Who’s Keith Moon (imagine what it must have been like in the house they all shared in LA during this time…).  However, this was also the period of time where Lennon went absolutely nuts on alcohol, resulting in both the Troubadour Incident (when he and Harry were thrown out of the Troubadour for heckling Dick Smothers during the Smothers Brothers’ comeback show) and the Kotex Incident (also at the Troubador, when Lennon decided it would be a good idea to walk around with a sanitary pad taped to his forehead).  This is, also, an original “Dynaflex” pressing of the album with the gatefold cover and fold-over page of photos.  This is an essential for any Beatles and/or Lennon collector.

The vinyl and the cover are in excellent to near-mint condition, as shown in the photo.                   

NOTE:  Sealed items are collectible because they are sealed.  Since I do not own a store, I cannot return items to the manufacturer.  Once opened, I cannot refund the purchase price in full because opening significantly affects its value. 

I do not use stock photos.  The photo shows the actual item up for auction.

NOTE:  Due to the present rules under Paypal, I can now ship internationally ONLY VIA PRIORITY MAIL.  If you are outside the US, Priority International is the standard shipping, due to the fact that under Paypal rules, delivery tracking must be included on EVERY package outside the US.  The cost depends upon the weight and the country of destination.  I will provide the cost for each option in my post-auction invoice (and, again, I can provide the info during the auction, if you e-mail me your zip code and the number of records).  To Canada, it will be $21.50USD for one LP.  To most other countries, it will be about $29.50USD for one LP.  I recognize that this will result in much higher shipping costs and I apologize for this change, but it is necessary under the Paypal rules now in effect. I am not a dealer, and all of the items I place up for auction are from my personal collection gathered over the past forty years (education expenses – and soon-to-be college expenses -- are the reason I am selling my collection...). 

The shipping costs are as follows: $4.00 for one LP via media mail to anywhere in the U.S.   Each additional LP is an additional $0.40 for media mail shipping.  Priority shipping within the U.S. is a function of weight and postal zone, and I will e-mail an invoice indicating the cost of priority (I can also provide this info while the auction is pending, if you e-mail me your zip code and the number of LPs). 

Insurance through the USPS is available, and once again my invoice will provide the cost information. 

NOTE – there is no tracking of packages through the USPS without delivery confirmation.  If you would like tracking ability, you must purchase delivery confirmation for $0.75. 

International Buyers – Please Note:

·         Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

·         Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

·         These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

·         We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.

I will always combine items, so that your shipping costs will be more manageable.  Payment may be made by paypal.  If I do not receive payment for an item within fifteen (15) days of the end of the auction and I do not hear from you in response to e-mails, I will consider the auction results void and relist the item(s) for auction.
