Description
Up for auction is a copy of the rare Nilsson promo box set "The True One", released in 1967 on RCA Victor. This copy contains two 10"x8" promo photos, lyric sheets, a 16"x12" trade ad/poster and a fan club card, together with a stereo copy of his debut LP, Pandemonium Shadow Show. There's a two-page bio & two pages of notes about the LP, but I think these may be photocopies. There are also seven "Nilsson: The True One" stickers attached to the front & rear of the box. I'll leave it to the winning bidder to peel them off. No badge/button, I'm afraid, and no balloon either (if such a thing ever existed; I've never seen one).
Condition: the front of the box has become completely detached from the rear, and there are a few minor marks all round the edges (the corners have been repaired with black tape all round, unless this is a rare variation). Some minor wear on the front & rear, and as previously mentioned, there are promo stickers on the front & rear also. Contents have handling creases but no writing or other damage. Record has a couple of wispy marks from sleeve removal, but is otherwise M-, as is the album cover. Overall (box/contents/vinyl/cover) VG/EX/EX/M-.
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence!
