Description
Here's a fantastic, and rather rare, album titled HARRY PARTCH Trust Fund First Edition of PLECTRA & PERCUSSION DANCES played by the GATE 5 ENSEMBLE.
This is an original pressing self-released in 1953 on green vinyl. Label appears to be hand-signed by Harry Partch and hand-numbered #101.
Instrumental ensemble consists of Richard Barnett, Ruita Churchill, Vincent Delgado, Robert Garfias, Henry Jaramillo, Lynn Ludlow, Harry Partch, Jerry Schimmel, Michele Slivka, Allen Smith, and Marc Smith.
The cover has bumped and rubbed corners, some edge scuffs, and overall rubbing. Vinyl has paper scuffs and several fairly nasty scratches. The album plays through fine with some surface noise and several times there are some loud pops. I think the first spot it popped for abut 10 revolutions. LP did not skip or get stuck and after the beginning quieter section the surface noise was very bearable. Condition is VERY GOOD (VG).
This is a great, hard-to-find album. Definitely worth owning. Only selling it because I'm trying to buy a house.
