Description
Welcome! Here is a lovely first UK press of Hatfield and the North The Rotters’ Club (Virgin V2030). On this 1975 album, the lineup is Phil Miller, Pip Pyle, Richard Sinclair, and Dave Stewart. Guests include Jimmy Hastings (Caravan), Mont Campbell (Egg), Lindsay Cooper and Tim Hodgkinson (Henry Cow), and of course the lovely Northettes. All is in superb condition!
Matrix numbers and mother/stamper codes are:
Side 1: V 2030 A-1U; the mother/stamper is 1 R.
Side 2: V 2030 B-1U; the mother/stamper is 1 O.
Using the Record Collector grading system, what do we have here?
Sleeve: The laminated single sleeve grades EX+. On the front, there are two small patches of laminate lift beside the spine (one at the top and one at the bottom), and a TINY spot of laminate lift in the lower right corner. On the back, there are just a couple of minor laminate wrinkles. There is absolutely NO wear to ANY of the corners, edges, or spine, and NO trace of ringwear. The laminated finish shines on brightly and is as clean as the day it was made! You could not upgrade this sleeve, which is signed “Printed in England by Robor Limited.”
Vinyl: The vinyl grades M-, with virtually no background crackle. The vinyl is visually beautiful as well. It is unlikely that you could upgrade this vinyl.
Labels: The full-color Virgin “Twins” have never looked better! There is absolutely NO spindle tracking to either label! Both labels are pristine, with strong colors.
Inner Sleeve: This album has its original plain white inner sleeve, in superb condition. It is very bright, with no wear or splits and just a few creases.
Outer Plastic Sleeve: Included here is the original outer protective plastic sleeve, complete with a Jem Records import album sticker.
And, in the end: I bought this album new in 1975 and have taken loving care of it ever since! If you are in the market for a strong UK example of the second Hatfield album, this is it! Please email me with any questions.
A Note on the Photos: Unless otherwise stated, any bright spots or glare in my pictures is from my camera’s flash.
Returns: Full return privileges (less shipping and listing fee) if dissatisfied, but I bet you won’t be! Please pay by PayPal. Thanks and good luck! About Me: I am not a dealer, but a longtime collector in the occasional process of dispersing my collection of English and German prog, rock, and blues albums.Shipping: I will ship to ANY country on Earth! Just be aware that items shipped from the USA to some countries (such as Brazil and Russia) can require several weeks to arrive at their destination. Please be patient.
If your country of residence is known to experience occasionally difficult deliveries, please consider paying for signature-required delivery. Some sellers already mandate this. Me, I do not want to make this a requirement. But if I have a receipt from the Vestal, New York, post office confirming my shipment to you, that is the end of my delivery responsibility.
Pursuant to my statement above that I am not a dealer, I do NOT gouge anyone on shipping costs. If you are in the USA, figure on $4.00 for Media Mail; of course, you can do Priority, Overnight, you name it.
For shipments outside the USA, I generally use the value that eBay shows for First Class Mail International, although if I believe that my packing – on which I pride myself – will likely knock the cost up to the next price level, that is what I will go with initially. If the actual postage price turns out to be less, I will post an immediate refund for the difference. Please take a look at my feedback; no one has ever had an issue with my items or their shipping cost.
Insurance: If you would like, I will get an insurance quote for you. I pack things very well, but if you choose to not buy insurance, I will not be responsible if something nasty happens.
Namaste, everyone!
