The below has been cut and pasted from previous auctions but I do have a bit of provenance to add. The singer on this album is Jeff Vinter who my dad (long dead sadly) used to teach long ago at Chichester School for Boys. My dad and Jeff remained friends all his life and I'm still in touch with Jeff. Ironically I still remember as an angry punk loving 14 year old being castigated by Jeff about how punks couldn't play their instruments and didn't deserve record contracts others had worked for !!!!
Anyway Havenstreet ran from 1974 to 1979 and yes some LPs came with an insert but this doesn't or my dad long ago lost it. What it does have is a little hand written note on the inner paper sleeve from Jeff to my dad saying..." With best wishes from Jeff Vinter and the Rissole Men. First Postal sale of this record! 15.2.77"
What I will add as a bonus is a cassette copy of demos and other recordings from Haven Street and the promise that if this should go for more than £500 to contribute 5% to charity.

THE RAREST AND BEST UK PRIVATE PRESSING-ONLY A COUPLE HAVE EVER TURNED UP. THE WAS RECORDED IN 1976 AND RELEASED IN EARLY '77 ONLY A FEW COPIES WERE PRESSED UP AS THE BAND RAN OUT OF MONEY-MAYBE AS LOW AS 10 TO 20 COPIES.
THE MUSIC IS JUST FANTASTIC TOP DREAMY PSYCH/FOLK/ACID AS GOOD AS IT GETS-TRACKS RANGING FROM ACID/FOLK TO FULL PSYCH/FOLK WITH LOVELY ELECTRIC PSYCH LEADS-ALL TRACKS WRITTEN BY THEM.OVERALL THE TRACKS HAVE A REAL PSYCH FEEL TO THEM-VERY RURAL ALMOST LIKE "HERON" IN PLACES BUT BETTER.THIS WILL PROB BE YOU ONLY CHANCE TO EVER GET A COPY.

COVER - G - There is a little split (1.5 inches) in the top spine of the cover and the sleeve is thin and white so its showing its age with some ringwear and creasing top left and right.I've done my best with the photo to show this.
