Description

Here's the first album by Hawkwind on the ultra rare blue Liberty label from 1970. Rumour has it only 500 copies were ever printed. True or not, this is one fine copy of this rare, psychedelic, acid drenched  UK underground release that has survived the last 50 years in excellent condition. Recorded live in the studio this is  (as you know) not the typical Hawkwind that we learned to love but more of an excursion and exploration into uncharted territory that would later evolve into masterpieces like "Doremi-fasol-latido", "Space Ritual Alive" and "Warrior on the Edge of Time". But here you have their first effort to explore and develop these later soundscapes. And its a great trip!
SLEEVE: Unlaminated gatefold in great condition! Whole and clean. No blemishes, no rips, tears, slits or writing. All colours clear and strong (see photos). Spine fully readable. Opening straight and strong. Original inner bag. At least EX.
LABELS: A little spindle wear shows that the record has been played a few times, so EX.
RECORD: Some hairlines on both sides that do not affect play. Still has that shiny new look about it but because of the hair lines, a visual VG++. A record that has been well taken care of.
SOUND/AUDIO: Played it through once and in spite of a few pops/clicks here and there it plays beautifully. Strong distortion-free sound. The clear, dynamic, organic sound that only vinyl provide. No back ground noise, no skips. VG++ - EX.
So all in all, a very decent copy of this astonishing hard-to-find Hawkwind debut!
