Hawkwind's milestone 5th studio LP, and their last with bassist "Lemmy" Kilmister before leaving to form Motörhead.

Prog Archives:   " All the things that have made Hawkwind so endearing are contained here, the echo-laden over-the-top sci-fi poetry, disembodied flutes and saxes, slashing rhythm guitar, fuzzy insistent bass, chattering electronics, sweeping synths and swirling mellotron with a touch of violin ".

"Warrior on the Edge of Time" is Hawkwind's ultimate accomplishment, as well as a definitive cornerstone for this specific prog trend.

Release history:   The original gatefold issue was released in 1975 on United Artists UAG-29766 in the UK,  and as UALA-465G in North America .   The Canadian release had absolutely no credits or titles anywhere on the exterior (except for the front title and a a tiny issue # on the back upper right).

A U.S. promo was released on ATCO (SD 36-115) and the general release (non-gatefold) re-issue in 1981, using the original UK number (UAG-29766).

When opened, this original Canadian gatefold would fold out to reveal not only more of the cover artwork, but when flipped over, it's a shield !!   How cool !
