Machined matrices: A-1U B-1U indicating the very first batch straight from the master. GO and GT mothers indicate the earliest possible press from within the first week of issue!! Also has "A PORKY PRIME CUT" etched into the run-out groove.
So, so hard to find, this Hawkwind all time classic album as a very earliest issue with the fold out shield sleeve!! Splendid prog album in great EX condition!! I am very happy to be able to present this fantastic and ULTRA rare album . This will be a great first acquisition as well as a terrific upgrade!!!
THE STEREO REPRODUCTION IS SUPERB AND EVERY NOTE IS HEARD CLEARLY AND CRISPLY WITHOUT DISTORTION. THERE IS MILD STATIC IN PLACES. NEEDLESS TO SAY, NO STICKS OR JUMPS!
Warrior is a very space styled album, and is quite different in style to their previous outings. The influence Lemmy had has appeared to diminish, as the bass is much less gritter and the overall sound is much lighter. Despite the synthesiser department being officially empty, this album is ruled by them. With the wind and the keyboard holding much of the musical sway in a similar way to Hawkwind's first two albums. All in all, this album is truly a great record to get your hands on.
However, this would be the last truly great Hawkwind album, not long after it was released the band began to explode. Lemmy was sacked not long after, his gritty metal bass replaced for all eternity. In addition by the time the album was completed, despite all it's brilliance the fans were left wanting more. After five albums in five years, nearly all of them brilliant examples space rock, Hawkwind were beginning to sound stale, and were left with two options. Evolve their sound, or disappear into the cracks of space and time. (from sputnikmusic.com)
Gatefold sleeve: VG++. This is the original gatefold sleeve with just one small catalogue sticker to the top front. The sleeve is solid without any damage and has a small name to the rear. The spine is really nicewithout much wear at all and overall the sleeve is in lovely shape without anything untoward. .The edges have only light storage wear and the opening is crisp and this sleeve will be a proud acquisition to most collectors.
Vinyl: EX. Fantastic classic vinyl with a beautiful sheen. It retains a nice gloss and plays throughout without any faults. Only a couple of light retraction traces can be seen under a strong light. This is the very first press as witnessed by the matrices and the mothers. Needless to say NO jumps, sticks, clicks or ticks. This vinyl will be an upgrade for most long time collectors!!
This also has the original inner sleeve which is often missing for this album.
