IN NICE USED CONDITION, COVER SHOWING SOME LIGHT WEAR, CREASING ETC, THE DISC HAS BEEN USED, THOUGH NOT OVER HEAVILY AND HAS BEEN LOOKED AFTER. THERES JUST SOME LIGHT HAIRLINE 'PAPER' MARKS WHEN LOOKED AT UNDER A STRONG LIGHT, STILL IN IT'S ORIGINAL EMI PAPER INNER.

Headstone – Bad Habits

Headstone was formed in 1973 by Tony Ashton who had an illustrious history stretching back to the early 60’s with his first band “The College Boys” and then onto "The Executives", “The Mastersounds", “The Tony Ashton Trio”, “The Remo Four”, “Ashton Gardener And Dyke” as well as collaborations with Deep Purple and Family. Guitarist Steve Bolton a native of Manchester played with “Puzzle” in the sixties and in 1971 he was recruited into the band Atomic Rooster as part of a new lineup for a tour promoting the band's third album “In Hearing Of". The tour was successful, and included a charity gig where the band supported The Who. He was also with Atomic Rooster for their “Made In England” album which was released in 1972 with a more funky sound replacing their original progressive rock leanings. Irish violinist Joe O’Donnell an original member of 60’s band Granny’s Intentions best known for his fiery and innovative playing in East of Eden, Mushroom, The Woods Band, and his acclaimed 1977 violin led concept album, Gaodhal's Vision with Rory Gallagher. They signed a contract withTrident Productions who had already signed a new band called Queen. They hired a Bass player called Philip Chen who later went on to play with Rod Stewart. They recorded with the same Producer of Rare Birds 1st Album John Antony. Headstone made two Albums “Bad Habits” (1974) and “Headstone” (1975) both for EMI. The second album “Headstone” saw a change of lineup. Chilli Charles and Phil Chen left and was replaced by Peter Van Hooke and Jerome Rimson. Peter Van Hooke would later go on to play with Van Morrison and Mike + The Mechanics. Around the same time Jerome Rimson played bass on “The Man From Manhattan” by Eddie Howell with Freddie Mercury on backing vocals and piano and Brian May on guitar and backing vocals, released as a bonus track on the 'Ghost Of A Smile' release, recorded at Sarm East Studios in London in August 1975. Jerome went on to join Automatic Man and played on their “Visitors” album and was producer for “The Real Thing”, receiving Gold status for “You to Me Are Everything”. Jerome also had the distinction of playing bass on the Phil Lynott album Becoming the only bass player to play bass on a Phil Lynott album apart from Phil himself.
