A very cool historical record of one of the last concerts featuring Blind Owl, who died a few weeks later.
Super rare private label live Canned Heat at the Kickapoo IL rock festival from the summer of 1970. While the indie label stuff like this is often horrid quality, this one is actually very high quality, deep groove and well done! The yellow wax disc, usually sounding bad as they are made from lower quality plastic, sounds find and even rather hi-fi… it's heavy as HECK too, a guaranteed 180 grams for sure! The cover is a very basic affair, with pasted on front and rear slicks on generic cardboard of the very chunky variety! No where on the LP does it mention Canned Heat… the condition on the disc is EX/EX- and VG+ for the cover. GREAT STUFF! The label notes even mention that they're intention was to make a great record and the cover and art work… MEH! I used have a copy of this as a young child and wondering WHO and WHAT exactly this was… now, many years later I finally know! There are a few copies of this floating around this area, as the label was local and the concert was local… making this kind of a LOCAL affair around the St Louis area...
