Vinyl: NM- Play Graded. Sounds Great! Has some sleeve marks that don't affect play. Mushroom picture Labels are Clean. This is the Original 1976 Mushroom 1st Pressing! MRS-5005. This is the Definitive variant, the audiophile acclaimed pressing mastered at Kendun Recorders!!! Heart's most essential record. Their Finest Hour! It plays out like a song-cycle, coming out as an exploration of the hearts (!) and minds of Ladies Ann & Nancy Wilson. They completely turned on its ear the notion that Chicks could Rock, paving the way for the likes of Courtney Love, Pat Benatar, Wendy Williams, Chrissie Hyde and a 100 others...and don't forget the signature guitar sounds of Richard Fisher and Howard Leese. There's so much more here to hear than the monster hits. Check out "(Love Me Like Music) I'll Be Your Song" and "Sing Child"...why don't these get played on the radio!?!?!? allmusic gives it 4 1/2 stars!!

Why buy a first or early pressing and not a re-issue or a ‘re-mastered’ vinyl album?
First and early pressings are pressed from the first generation lacquers and stampers. They usually sound vastly superior to later issues/re-issues (which, in recent times, are often pressed from whatever 'best' tapes or digital sources are currently available) - many so-called 'audiophile' new 180g pressings are cut from hi-res digital sources…essentially an expensive CD pressed on vinyl. Why experience the worse elements of both formats? These are just High Maintenance CDs, with mid-ranges so cloaked with a veil as to sound smeared. They are nearly always compressed with murky transients and a general lifelessness in the overall sound. There are exceptions where re-masters/re-presses outshine the original issues, but they are exceptions and not the norm.
First or early pressings nearly always have more immediacy, presence and dynamics. The sound staging is wider. Subtle instrument nuances are better placed with more spacious textures. Balances are firmer in the bottom end with a far-tighter bass. Upper-mid ranges shine without harshness, and the overall depth is more immersive. Inner details are clearer.
On first and early pressings, the music tends to sound more ‘alive’ and vibrant. The physics of sound energy is hard to clarify and write about from a listening perspective, but the best we can describe it is to say that you can 'hear' what the mixing and mastering engineers wanted you to hear when they first recorded the music.

In the 1980s and '90s, numerous women recorded blistering rock, but things were quite different in 1976 -- when female singers tended to be pigeonholed as soft rockers and singer/songwriters and were encouraged to take after Carly Simon, Melissa Manchester, or Joni Mitchell rather than Led Zeppelinor Black Sabbath. Greatly influenced by Zep, Heart did its part to help open doors for ladies of loudness with the excellent Dreamboat Annie. Aggressive yet melodic rockers like "Sing Child," "White Lightning & Wine," and the rock radio staples "Magic Man" and "Crazy on You" led to the tag "the female Led Zeppelin." And in fact, Robert Plant did have a strong influence on Ann Wilson. But those numbers and caressing, folk-ish ballads like "How Deep It Goes" and the title song also make it clear that the Nancy and Ann Wilson had their own identity and vision early on.
