Originally released with the title Twilight of Mischief, 1981's Bent was the debut album from Australian hard rock band Heaven. The early 80's was such an interesting time for rock music. Metal was creeping into the mainstream, arena rock was still huge and bands could take some chances and try new things. Heaven did that by combining an aggressive, AC/DC-inspired hard rock approach with a degree of polish and melody.

Bent reminds me of what bands like Starz, Legs Diamond and TKO were doing at the time. There's a wild, hard-partying energy that's tempered by just enough commercial appeal to practically dare radio stations to play it. "Fantasy" is a great single, and "No One Knows" is a cool rocker, but the whole album is enjoyable. The later American version is called Bent.  This is just a really fun rock n' roll album that you can't help but turn up and rock out to.
