Description

HEIFETZ Bruch Scottish Fantasy, Vieuxtemps Concerto No.5 Sir Malcolm Sargent Conducting The New Symphony Orchestra Of London New & Sealed Vinyl LP
Record label: Classic Records/RCA LSC-2603
Original Classic Records pressing on 180 gram vinyl. Out of print and growing harder and harder to find, this is the reissue of the 1962 "Shaded Dog" Living Stereo release.
Mastered at half speed from the original source master tapes, this was Classic Records' attempt to achieve the ultimate in vinyl sound quality. The packaging is beautiful as Classic pride themselves for releasing each album with the original artwork, LP labels and any other materials which were included with original pressings. This title is LONG out of print and growing more collectable by the day.
Record is new and sealed in it's original plastic sleeve. Perforation is completely intact. Spines are straight, colors are vibrant and corners are sharp. NO flaws or blemishes... 100% MINT!
Review: One of the best Heifetz concerto titles of all time. (I'm trying to think of a title that sounds better and coming up blank.) The violin is captured beautifully, although each side has its own specific sonic characteristics. More importantly there is a lovely lyricism in Heifetz's playing which suits this Romantic music perfectly. I know of no better performance of either work. If you want to demonstrate the magic of Living Stereo recordings, jump right to the second movement of the Bruch. The sonority of the massed strings is to die for. When Heifetz enters, his violin further adds to the transcendental quality of the sound. It doesn't get much better than this, on Living Stereo or anywhere else. ~ Amazon
