GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : musiche composte da Heinz Gietz ed eseguite da The Dometown Gang, gruppo di studio formato a Colonia con molti validi musicisti multiculturali tra cui il trombettista jazz Duško Gojkovi?, presente in Germania proprio nell'anno in cui venne registrato questo singolo ma onestamente è poco probabile che vi abbia realmente partecipato. Va subito detto che i due brani del disco erano stati scritti dal compositore Tedesco per il film "The Killer of Soho" ma purtroppo per motivi sconosciuti non venne mai completato. Di esso è stata persa ogni traccia ma è ragionevole pensare che si trattasse di un thriller simile ai tanti affascinanti film vecchio stile tratti dai racconti di Edgar Wallace e prodotti in  Germania. Tipo "Il Fantasma di Londra" del 1967 ("Mönch mit der Peitsche", il titolo originale Tedesco) o "Il Teschio di Londra" del 1968 ("Im Banne des Unheimlichen", il titolo originale), entrambi diretti dal prolifico e bravo regista Alfred Vohrer con Joachim Fuchsberger sempre nel ruolo dell’ispettore Higgins.

I due brani sono veramente sorprendenti per qualità musicale. " The Killer of Soho " è due volte assassino nel titolo e nel folle ritmo che prende l’intera sua esecuzione. Si balla senza respiro con le pazze sonorità dell’organo, della sezione fiati e del coinvolgente drumming; sincopature e un ritmo non troppo lontano dal funk. " Rock In " è, se possibile, ancora più scatenata : forsennato assolo ed eccitanti improvvisazioni dell’organo con la presenza di un’irresistibile sezione fiati e dell’indiavolata batteria; martellanti sonorità beat con discrete influenze rhythm & blues.

Notes : music composed by Heinz Gietz and performed by The Dometown Gang, a studio group formed in Cologne with excellent multicultural musicians including jazz trumpeter Duško Gojkovi?, present in Germany just during the same year wherein this single was recorded but frankly his participation is unlikely.  It must be said immediately both tracks on this single were written by the composer for the German film "The Killer of Soho" which unfortunately for unknown reasons was never completed. About it have been lost all the traces but it is reasonable to presume it would have been a thriller similar to many fascinating and glorious old films based on the novels by Edgar Wallace and produced in Germany. Such as "The College Girl Murders" of 1967 ("Mönch mit der Peitsche", the original German title) or "The Zombie Walks" of 1968 ("Im Banne des Unheimlichen", the original title), both directed by the prolific and talented director Alfred Vohrer with Joachim Fuchsberger always as the inspector Higgins.

 Both tracks are really amazing for musical quality. " The Killer of  Soho " is twice killer in the title and in the crazy rhythm of the track led throughout its full-length duration. You dance breathless through the crazy organ sonorities, the horn section and the enthralling drumming. Features breaks and a rhythm not too far from funk. " Rock In " is, if possible, even more wild: great organ solo by exciting improvisations with the presence of an irresistible horn section and of a well-gifted drummer. Pounding beat sound with some rhythm & blues influences.
