Description
An excellent condition example of the original 1965 UK reel to reel 3 & 3/4 ips mono tape release of "Help !" by The Beatles complete with the "Emitape" leaflet, the packing slip, the small green and gold Parlophone logo sticker. Cat No TA-PMC-1255.
Clean, no split corners to lid, untorn inlay tray, printed white leader and red trailing tape, no pen markings/writing, inside of cover lid and base lid clean.
Old style Parlophone logo to bottom left of base.
Even the green and gold Parlophone logo circular sticker, which is usually missing.
These Beatles reels were often purchased by audiophiles looking for top sound quality - a wide 1/4 inch tape running at a fast 3&3/4 inches per second ensured this. As you would expect, many were carefully looked after, resulting in some real gems today, some 50 years later.
Pink red star tax code to top left of base. EMI supplied these reels on a "sale or return" basis to those retailers who stocked them, and the star code was there to show it had been returned as unsold and purchase tax had been accounted for. EMI then passed the tape to another retailer.
Played throughout both sides and tested - perfect. Emitape leaflet and packing slip like new. Rare in this nice and complete condition.
