THIS WEEK, I’m going to try something different, just to see if you’re paying attention:  These records are, with few exceptions, ALL mint, unsold copies from a Columbia dealer’s stock I lucked into a few years ago. You haven’t really LIVED until you’ve set stylus to an unplayed record! Yes, I’ve played them a few times, but with a modern tonearm – as far as I know, they’ve never known the gentle caress of a steel needle and heavy pickup.  These records all date from 1925 to 1926, and are guaranteed to blow your mind! 

EARL GRESH AND HIS GANGPLANK ORCHESTRA give out with two terrific and highly jazzy 1925 Fox Trots: "HELP!" and "FRESHIE."  Needless to say, though I SHALL say it, "Help!" is NOT the famous tune by the Beatles - though you CAN get double takes from your slightly gullible friends! Free of charge, naturelliment! 

By the way, the "Gangplank Club" in New York, where Gresh and his boys were employed, was a pirate-themed speak, whose entrance was an actual gangplank which customers were forced to walk! 

This original 1925 "Viva-Tonal" Columbia 469-D is in store-stock N- condition.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.”  I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
