Original 60's first edition with red lettering on white artwork of Henri Pousseur's masterpiece with Michel Butor and Pierre Bartholomee.
Some info on the release: Original 60's release on german label Wergo (that released also records by Michael Obst, Jean-Claude Risset, Herbert Eimert, Josef-Anton Riedl, Gottfried Michael Koenig, Luc Ferrari, Folke Rabe, Dieter Schnebel, Oskar Sala, Giacinto Scelsi and others) of the legendary masterpiece of Henri Pousseur with Michel Butor "Jeu de Mirroirs de Votre Faust", accompanied by "Le Tombeau de Marin Marais" from Pierre Bartholomee.
"Jeu de Miroirs de Votre Faust" was prepared in the electronic studios of Gant and Brussels during a long period of time, as Pousseur had begun working on this piece with Butor back from 1961!! The tape part includes sythesized voices with shouted elements all mixed together in various degrees of volume and differently synchronized blocks of sound. Performers did include Luciano Berio's wife Cathy Berberian, Marcelle Mercenier, Basia Retchitzka, Louis Devos, Jules Bastin, Francine Liebens and others.
Henri Pousseur is known for being one of the first electronic music composers, producing back in 1957 "Scambi" at the Studio di Fonologia Milan, one of the first and most evolved at its' time electronic pieces, while "Trois Visages de Liege"(1961) is one of the most groundbreaking electronic works ever written!! More of his electronic works were released recently on Sub Rosa and Alga Marghen. While, Pousseur is also known for his close connection with german composer Karlheinz Stockhausen back in the early days. While his musical researches brought him close to composers like Vinko Globokar, Karel Goeyvaerts, Luis de Pablo, Pierre Bartholomee, Garrett List, Frederic Rzewsky, Hans Zender, Philippe Boesmans and others. A BIG BIG MUST!!
Condition: Vinyl lies in very good+ condition, looks pretty clean with the exception of some thin "hairline" marks, but plays with an amount of crackle, while cover lies in very good condition, is somewhat "dirty" with stains on upper left, some writing with pencil and corner wear.
