Description

HENRY THOMAS "SINGS THE TEXAS BLUES" mono lp on Origin Jazz Library OJL-3 US issue (1962?) VG+/VG+. I would grade this lp VG+. It plays great, but has some minimal noise that was not there when the record was new. It may also have visual marks, consistent with a well cared for, but appreciated, record that’s had a moderate amount of play. This LP still plays great and has lots of shine and is beautiful overall. THIS IS A VINTAGE COPY (pre-2000). ALL LPS COME TO YOU FRESHLY CLEANED AND PLAY READY. FOR MAXIMUM  RESULTS RECLEAN EACH SIDE  AFTER INITIAL PLAY (SOME OF MY LPS HAVE NOT BEEN PLAYED FOR 40 YRS. OR MORE.) This is a very rare lp and Thomas is great. Like most Texas Bluesmen of his generation very much influenced by Blind lemon Jefferson. It's also a very clean copy. These are 78 transcriptions so each trk. varies but OJL always does a great job Anything that Sam Charters was involved in was done with the greatest integrity. I can't imagine this had more than 1 pressing so I'm guessing it is a 1962 issue (it's the old non-glossy cardboard style cover). Great copy of this great 1920's Texas Bluesman.

The Jacket: In black magic marker, my initials back upper rt., an x back lower rt.. A very functional jacket. I would rate the cover VG+ overall with light wear of any kind. Sticker remnant front. Very nice.  (I will only be citing things not visible in pictures).
