Selleck writes novels about ladykiller detective, searches for inspiration and becomes involved with lovely Porizkova, who just may be a real killer. Flavorful concoction of mystery, suspense, comedy offers Delerue smashing platform for beautiful melodies, mysterious strains, dramatic gestures... all wrapped up in signature manner. With all style of material at his command, it is the beautiful love them that Delerue anchors the score with. And in this regard, the rich "End Credits" sequence remains one of Delerue's choicest of the 1980's.
