HERBIE HANCOCK “Maiden Voyage” RVG, BST 84195 Stereo Vinyl
This is the “Van Gelder” stamped pressing of HERBIE HANCOCK’s “Maiden Voyage” on the "Liberty Records” labels of Blue Note BST 84195. Musicians include Herbie Hancock — piano, Freddie Hubbard — trumpet, George Coleman — tenor saxophone, Ron Carter — bass, Tony Williams — drums.
VINYL plays beautifully, with occasional pressing defect which results in brief left channel distortion. This sounds very intermittently, most of record plays beautifully. Pristine vinyl. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong with clean transients, powerful extension and full tone. NO distortion. NO skips. Very Good gloss. Two or three hairline marks, none feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “New York USA” labels are clean. See photos.
COVER is in good shape, corners worn, long wrinkle top right. Seams and spine nearly perfect, some cracking on lower seam. Back jacket shows aging, stains, minor wear. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON VPI 16.5 VINYL CLEANER.
