HERBIE HANCOCK "Maiden Voyage" VG, P, DG, Blue Note 4195 Mono Vinyl
This is the first edition, 1965, "VAN GELDER" stamped, Deep Groove, P-pressing of HERBIE HANCOCK's "Maiden Voyage" on the "New York" labels of Blue Note BLP 4195. Musicians include Herbie Hancock — piano, Freddie Hubbard — trumpet, George Coleman — tenor saxophone, Ron Carter — bass, Tony Williams — drums.
VINYL plays very well, cleanly, with occasional pops or ticks. Side 2, #2 has intermittent low level surface noise. Ensemble sections are strong, clear, and powerful. No Skips. No locked grooves. No distortion. Very Good gloss. A few non-feelable hairline marks. Super clean surface. The Deep Groove (one side) "New York" labels are clean with spindle marks. See photos.
COVER is in quite good shape, corners worn. Seams and spine solid, with some cracking. Masking tape on right side at opening. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23" back jacket is clean, handwriting, wear. Please see photos.
