HERBIE HANCOCK “My Point Of View” RVG, P, LAM, Blue Note BLP 4126 Mono Vinyl
This is the 1963, first edition, “VAN GELDER” stamped, Laminated Cover, “P” pressing of HERBIE HANCOCK’s “My Point Of View “ on the “New York USA" labels of Blue Note BLP 4126. Musicians include Herbie Hancock – piano, Donald Byrd – trumpet, Grachan Moncur III – trombone, Hank Mobley – tenor saxophone, Grant Green – guitar (not on tracks 2, 3 & 4), Chuck Israels – bass, Tony Williams – drums.
VINYL plays well, with pop and ticks, many of which are overwhelmed by the music. Pops most noticeable in ballads. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No skips. Good gloss. Handful of hairline marks, none feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “New York USA” labels are clean, “LEE”, much spindle wear under direct light. See photos.
LAMINATED COVER is in very good shape. Corners worn. Top and bottom seams shows cracks and some splits. Spine nearly perfect. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows writing, wear. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER. Record photographed before final rinse/dry
