Description
Blue Note Records 1519, this is an original US mono pressing - NOT a reissue - of the classic self titled LP from The Herbie Nichols Trio. Nichols is joined on this date by Al McKibbon and Teddy Kotick on bass and Max Roach on drums. This pressing has the classic blue and white labels with the "167 Lexington Ave NYC" address notation on both sides, in addition to the "deep groove" under each label. "RVG" and the "ear" symbol are clearly etched in the trail off as well. Jacket is EX, showing some minor rubbing/handling; there is a 1/2 inch lower right corner tape repair, but outside of that it looks very nice. LP is a shiny VG+, with some age/storage spots and paper/surface marks on either side. There is a bit of minor crackle/light ticks on the second track on side 1 and the first track of side 2, both instances caused by a small hairline, but otherwise sound quality is solid throughout. Labels are crisp with no spindle wear. The only original pressing of this one I have come across! Buyer pays $8.50 priority or $4.00 media shipping in the US, $16.25 airmail overseas.
