Den Kreislauf von Leben und Tod thematisierend, kommt HERETOIRs "The Circle" mit einer Schnittmenge aus schwarzmetallischen Sounds und progressiver Herangehensweise daher, die man heute vielleicht "Post Metal" nennen würde. Eine wesentliche Zutat ist die intensive Atmosphäre, die von der souveränen musikalischen Darbietung getragen wird und den Hörer mit Tiefgang immer wieder aus tiefster Dunkelheit ins Licht begleitet.
Als besondere Dreingabe steuert "Neige" von Alcest Gastgesang bei.
