MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Hi-Fi “Minigroove” Mono very first press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1957 by Discos Philips (Philips Records), with maroon/silver Philips Records labels, catalog number A 00263 L, with machine etched matrix numbers 4 F AA 00263 ? 1L = 14 // 670 12 in Side 1 and E* 6 AA 00263 ? 2L = 16 // 670 11  in Side 2. Yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND!!! Another rare Chilean press of a great album!!!

“CONCERTO FOR VIOLIN AND ORCHESTRA” was originally released in 1952 but we had to wait until 1957 to see this album released here in Chile, even though the year isn’t informed in cover or labels, and like in most of the cases of that period, we got it with an unique flipback cover, made of a single piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle, with back cover pasted on the flips of front cover. In Chile the front cover has an UNIQUE ARTWORK already used in other albums with album title written in Spanish only. Back cover is totally different, no album title, full credits and a long review about Paganini, Vieuxtemps and Krebbers, with tracklist written in Spanish only. In labels the credits, no title informed, are written in Spanish only, with the interesting fact that original price is printed in Side A but it’s overprinted with a new price, “$6195”, which doesn’t let to see the original price. So, here you have a very interesting album with an UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND from Chile, another great album with an UNIQUE COVER!!! WOW!!!

Cover is in a great VG- or VG condition, complete with light wear in all edges, more evident in the corners and the mouth, with some rips in back cover, some soft creases, light age browning, more evident in back cover, no writings or marks of any kind and no seam splits, a real miracle for this kind of fragile covers. The record is in great EX- or EX condition, glossy and clean, with soft scuffs and hairlines and very light scratches, hard to see, which don’t affect play. Labels on both sides are in absolute NM- or NM condition, clean and clear, with only some spindle hole wear, no writings, marks or blemishes at all. The sound is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), light constant crackles and some soft pops and clicks, here and there, which don’t affect the sound. Overall, a rare record released in Chile, maybe not for audiophiles or Minty minds, but with still a glossy look and still more than respectable and decent sound quality after about 63 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean issue!!! And keep in mind the UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
