Born in Ecuador and raised in Switzerland, brothers Alejandro and Estevan Gutierrez conjure a cinematic blend of Latin soul, desert blues and instrumental psychedelia. Produced by Dan Auerbach, their latest offering draws on old western scores and vintage South American guitar traditions, offering a hypnotic and sun-warped listen. 'El Bueno Y El Malo' sets the tone with twanging guitar and lingering reverb, like Morricone in slow motion. 'Hermosa Drive' and 'Thunderbird' ease into hazy, low-slung grooves, while 'Los Chicos Tristes' and 'Cielo Grande' echo with melancholy and warmth. On the flip, 'Tres Hermanos' and 'La Verdad' deepen the mood with fluid interplay and dusty textures, before 'Dorado Valley' ends with golden-hour clarity. It's evocative, unhurried and quietly mesmerising.
