Heron – Self Titled Album (12” LP)Heron are an English folk-rock band who released two albums in the early-1970s and have continued to perform since reforming in the 1990s. The band had its origins in 1967 at the Dolphin Folk Club in Maidenhead, Berkshire, where Tony Pook (vocals), Roy Apps (guitar, vocals), and Robert Collins (guitar) played together, inspired by Bob Dylan and The Incredible String Band. When Collins left, Pook and Apps were joined by Gerald T. Moore (guitar, mandolin, vocals), who had previously played in R&B bands in Reading, and Martin Hayward (guitar), to form Heron.
Side One: Yellow Roses; Car Crash; Harlequin 2; Smiling Ladies; Little Boy; Sally Goodin; Upon Reflection.
Side Two: Lord & Master; Little Angel; Goodbye; For You; Sally Goodin; Carnival & Penitence.
The album is on Dawn Records, DNLS 3010. Matrix side one: DNLS 3010A-1 *T (stamped). Matrix side two: DNLS 3010B-1 *T (stamped).
Released in 1970. UK pressing. Stereo.

Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: excellent (has the odd very light superficial mark that can only be seen under bright light that does not affect the audio in any way, plays excellent with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Vinyl side 2: excellent (has the odd very light superficial mark that can only be seen under bright light that does not affect the audio in any way, plays excellent with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Cover (textured, gatefold): excellent (light corner wear, light aging / discolouring mainly around the edges, “this album was recorded live in a field” sticker on front).
Comes with the original one-sided insert in excellent condition.
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler. 1715 (GS 9.9.2 (1715))
