HERVE VILARD
“LA CHICA DE LOS OJOS CLAROS”
(Une Fille Aux Yeux Clairs)
RARE original PROMOTIONAL SAMPLE STAMPED Trema Records very first STEREO press released in Chile in 1967 by Trema Records, made and distributed by Industria De Radio Y Televisión S.A. (IRT Records), with silver/black Trema Records labels, catalog number TRL-1601, with hand etched matrix numbers TRL-1601-A EB C in Side 1 and TRL-1601-A EB C in Side 2. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of both side it’s written the date of pressing, “8-1-76” (January 8th of 1976). Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!!
“LA CHICA DE LOS OJOS CLAROS” was originally released in 1976 in Chile and Argentina like a compilation album with his hits sung in Spanish, but like in so many cases of the period we got it in Chile with an UNIQUE COVER!!! Cover is made of an only piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle, so 3 sides are open, with 2 sheets of paper for front and back cover, attached to the cardboard (only partially glued in the mouth edge) and kept together for a plastic bag. In Chile front cover has a picture of Hervé Vilard with his name in violet lettering and title at bottom right corner with the squared PROMO SAMPLE stamp in the mouth side. Back cover is blue with white text, with the name of the singer and tracklist written in Spanish, translated to French or English with full credits for sonwriters and the rounded IRT Record PROMO stamp. In labels the album title is written in Spanish only and the tracklist is written in Spanish, translated to French or English. It’s interesting to notice that in back cover the sides are identified “Lado 1” (Side 1) and “Lado 2” (Side 2) but in labels they are only “A” and “B”. And it’s curious that in this compilation all the songs are sung in Spanish, except for “Champagne” (co-written by Brazilian singer Roberto Carlos and Hervé Vilard), which’s sung in French. And this album also includes great Spanish versions of 10CC’s “I’m Not In Love” and Morris Albert’s “Feelings”!!! So, here you have a great chance to get this UNIQUE ALBUM by Hervé Vilard with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE PS, SAMPLE stamped (“MUESTRA SIN VALOR COMERCIAL” – Sample Without Commercial Value) in both cover and front cover and label and UNIQUE TRACKLIST sung in Spanish!!! You can see this album is included in the worldwide discography of Hervé Vilard in his website but they don’t have the picture!!! (http://www.hervevilard.com/PLAN/SITEPAGE6CHILI.htm) WOW!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in EX or EX+ condition, clear and clean, no ring marks, light creases, only some minimal wear in the mouth side and corners, light age browning, no blemishes, no creases, no bends, no marks of any kind. The record is in superb EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with light scuffs and soft hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which of course don’t affect sound, no scratches. Labels are in EX- or EX condition both sides, absolutely clean and clear with very minimal spindle hole wear with silver stamp “MUESTRA SIN VALOR COMERCIAL” (Sample Without Commercial Value) still perfect in Side 1, even though hard to see, and a big writing “096” with black pen in both sides. The sound is in absolute EX or EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with minimal light occasional crackles here and there, mostly evident in between tracks and silent parts and a click at the end of song “Sombras” (Feelings), which don’t distract from the great sound this album keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall a great record with still a glossy look and amazing sound quality after 37 years!!! And keep in mind this record has an UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, it’s a SAMPLE STAMPED copy and it also has UNIQUE TRACKLIST only used here in Chile and Argentina, with Hervé Vilard singing in Spanish. A MUST TO HAVE!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
