Description

HIGH TIDE - SEA SHANTIES

Impressive condition 1969 UK 1st press heavy psych rarity with the gleaming, sparingly played vinyl and superb stereo audio quality being real highlights

Year/Label :  UK Liberty 1969

Label number :  LBS 83264

Matrix numbers :  LBS 83264 A//1  /  LBS 83264 B//1

Stampers :  1 1  1   /   1 1

Excellent plus (EX+) condition weighty and completely flat glossy vinyl still retaining a jet black sheen with just a few faintest of faint paper scuff lines on each side, barely visible even with close inspection in a bright light.   Excellent plus (EX+) condition matt labels with a few small and very light spindle trails on the side 2 label, the side 1 label appears to be completely devoid of even a single faint spindle trail blemish!  A solid very good (VG+) condition original MacNeill Press non-laminated outer gatefold sleeve - all intact with a beautiful interior though there are some mild but noticeable blemishes : each edge remains firm but there is some intermittent and mild non-obvious scuffing on each of the top and bottom edges, there is just the hint of a little mild diagonal surface creasing towards the top and bottom front-side opening edge corners, there is some mild creasing/compression towards the top of the spine - nonetheless the spine remains firm with no scuffing and all spine text nicely intact still, there is a little rubbing on each corner though this is very minor, and there is some mild age discolouration/browning towards the edges on both the front and back sides (including some mild age disclouration spots on the front side) - nothing major but noticeable mild blemishes nevertheless for which I have tried to give a fair representation in my accompanying photos.  Terrific, truly excellent plus (EX+) STEREO sound quality with no skips, repeats, jumps, clicks, or interference, and background crackle is simply non-existent with every track a great listen, with fabulous crystal clear guitar licks throughout. I get the firm impression that this record has been very sparingly played.

Comes complete with original poly-lined "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" and correctly dated inner sleeve with no splits or tears - just a little mild creasing and age discolouration towards the corners/edges - and remaining fully functional. I always supply a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve as a matter of course.

Somebody once told me that this is the first ever grunge record...well there's a thought. I prefer to categorise it as "heavy psych, man" - either way it's impressive with loads of guitar wizardry, and a worthy addition to any serious vinyl collection.

POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £5 using Royal Mail 1st class signed for;

for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for,

and for the rest of the world £20 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
