HILLSIDE DEMOS-4-Song-7-Inch-EP-45 RPM-Hillside Records #SoN 53942-Promotional ONLY Issue-Monster 1967 Columbus OHIO Garage-Punk-Includes: on A-Side-DEDICATED FOLLOWERS “Harlem Shuffle”-Yes-the R&B classic made popular by the ACTION and the STONES-Vox Continental organ dominated…very crude & Inept…/INTERNAL CANITERY SIN “Purple Haze” which is so OVER THE EDGE with FUZZ guitar…MONSTER & KILLER VERSION of Hendrix number…great name…IT DOESN’T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS!!!! Two guitar-driven-one rhythm, the other a LOUD FUZZ guitar…The fuzz guitar is like on 10!! KILLER FUZZ GUITAR THROUGHOUT WITH 2 MONSTER LEAD BREAKs…on B-side: GEARS “We’re Through”-Great & Crude Young Rascals inspired ORIGINAL-again-Vox Continental organ/guitar dominated-crude and primitive lead guitar break/ EMERALDS-“Brown Eyed Girl”-Crude garage adaption of the Van Morrison number…very crude, Vox Continental organ/guitar dominated…singer doesn’t come close to Van though…Band is so inept that they forget where they are midway through the song-then STOP and START OVER!!! Phone numbers after each band for ‘bookings’ on the label (see photo)-I don’t have to tell you that THE INTERNAL CANITERY SIN must have had the phone ringing off the wall!! Most of you are aware of the HILLSIDE DEMOS album issued in 1967 out of Columbus OHIO-THIS EP was issued at the same time-the numbers on the EP NOT included on the LP—ULTRA-SUPER RARE.
