What we have here is 1 copy of the Test Pressing for the limited vinyl version of the "Courting Tragedy and Disaster" picture disk LP.
A Test Pressing, for the uninitiated, is a sample taken off of the master plates for a record to ensure sound quality before the project goes into mass production. They are produced in small quantities and are usually the rarest version of any vinyl record. In this case there were only about 20 copies made. All other vinyl copies of this records were picture disks. This is a way to own a very rare piece of a band's history.
Himsa formed in 1998 when members of NW Straight Edge band TRIAL split off to form a heavier project. The additions of John Pettibone (Undertow) on vocals and guitarist "Sammi Curr" (Josh Freer - also ex-TRIAL) helped to solidify their style, as their first 3 releases on Revelation Records saw them flirting with the metal sound that would become the foundation of this new record. Thisfull length was released on CD by PROSTHETIC RECORDS, and released on vinyl in a limited picture Disk version by EXCURSION.

Formed in 1998, Himsa has stood through the intense beginnings that could only tear other bands apart. Having grown through many line-up changes, Himsa has progressed into an original metal-hybrid band that has its roots firmly planted in the hardcore scene. The combination of speed and technical precision in their music leads to mind-numbing changes and hints of harmonic thrash-metal not seen before in a band from this genre.
