Description
HMV ALP 1286/1287 GOLD/RED LABEL. EXTREMELY RARE 2LP RECORD SET. Beethoven "Choral" Symphony No.9 in D Minor, Opus 125. Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Elisabeth Hongen, Hans Hopf, Otto Edelmann and the Orchestra and Chorus of the 1951 Bayreuth Festival conducted by Wilhelm Furtwangler. Disc One, ALP 1286, is in very clean condition and graded EX+. Disc Two, ALP 1287, has some light surface marks but generally clean and graded VG+. Both sleeves are intact with some light laminate peeling at the opening edges, and graded VG+. This item is in very acceptable condition and presents a rare opportunity to own these highly desirable records. There is no stereo equivalent and it is the rarest of all HMV ALP recordings, equalled only by ALP 1462. The starting price reflects the value of this item and I have placed no reserve.
