This auction is for the following rare LP:

MEGA RARE UK HMV FIRST PRESSING STEREO LP FROM 1960 WITH GOLD AND CREAM LABEL DESIGN (FIRST LABEL DESIGN TYPE FOR THIS RELEASE).

CATALOGUE NUMBER - ASD 330.

MENDELSSOHN'S "THE HEBRIDES" ...AND..."LE CARNAVAL ROMAIN" BY BERLIOZ.

Anyone looking at this listing knows how rare this is...but I will allow the bidders to decide it's true value here.

THE RECORD - EXCELLENT MINUS, VISUAL SHAPE.  ONLY REALLY DISPLAYING SIGNS OF FEW PLAYS AND SOME VERY LIGHT SURFACE MARKINGS.  THE LP IS VERY CLEAN AND HAS FULL GLOSS AND RETAINS THE ORIGINAL SHINE.  IT IS HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN WELL CARED FOR.  LIGHT SURFACE NOISE IS EVIDENT ONLY REALLY IN THE QUIET AREAS AND IN THE RUN IN AREAS, NOT AT ALL IN LOUD PASSAGES.  THE LIGHTEST OF SURFACE NOISE THAT IS EVIDENT COULD BE REDUCED WITH A DEEP CLEAN.  I HAVE NOT DONE THIS AS I KNOW ALL COLLECTORS HAVE THEIR OWN METHODS AND ALSO, I DO NOT OWN A CLEANING MACHINE WHICH I KNOW WORK WELL WITH LPs.  I ENJOYED LISTENING TO THIS LP AND IT TRULY IS A GREAT EXAMPLE. NOT MINT - BUT EXTREMELY NICE.

LABELS - VERY NICE WITH FEW SIGNS OF USE.  NO WRITING, STICKERS ETC OR OTHER DEFECTS OF ANY KIND AT ALL.

INNER SLEEVE - THE INNER SLEEVE PRESENTED WITH THIS LP IS IN VERY NICE SHAPE.

COVER - VERY VERY GOOD CONDITION - SOME LAMINATE LIFT ON OPENING EDGE AND A SPLIT ON TOP SEAM AROUND THE OPENING EDGE AREA (LESS THAN AN INCH) BUT OTHERWISE A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF A 50 YEAR OLD COVER - IF ONLY ALL 50s/60s LPs HAD SURVIVED SO WELL!

REVERSE OF COVER IS VERY WHITE AND FRESH AND ONLY THE SMALLEST SIGNS OF AGE ARE EVIDENT.

THERE ARE NO STICKERS, WRITING, CREASES ETC AT ALL.  THE SPINE IS STRONG AND SOLID AND FULLY READABLE.

So, there it is - NOT MINT but very close...and a super rare item.

I think my minimum bid is fair in comparison to other copies I have seen on ebay and elsewhere in the last few years (not that there have been many).
