Description
This is from a top of the market collection, comprising of just early stereo rarities on Decca HMV, UK Columbia & RCA. First labels issues in Near Mint condition to 99% of them, all described in detail with plenty of pictures. Includes many items rarely seen on ebay.
1st UK type issue ED1 Stereo HMV SLS 837 Eight single sided LP Test pressings of the complete Prokofiev War & Peace Opera. This outstanding musical dramatisation of the Tolstoy masterpiece is performed by the Bolshoi chorus & Orchestra with soloists conducted by Alexander Melik-Pashayev. White labels Test pressing with the full booklet, plus a load of release paperwork. These are a full matching set that are HMV sound Engineer mastered from the Russian master tapes. This is not something you will see very often, the test are very small runs, and this is from 38 years ago.
This is visually near mint with good sheen & no marks to the playing surfaces, has clean labels with very few spindle marks, and the sleeve is Near Mint, as seen in pics, no pen or excess dirt, no splits or bends. Includes booklet.
